Unidentified Cicadidae - This cicada larva just emerged from underground and is climbing a wall in preparation for its transformation into adulthood (next photo).

Unidentified Cicadidae - This cicada had emerged from its larval exoskeleton shortly before this photograph was taken. Unfortunately, a flash was not available at the time, so a car's headlights were used for lighting. To somewhat normalize the distorted yellow colorization of the actual photograph, the yellow color saturation was reduced after scanning in the photo.
